Program Description:
This course is the foundation of successful medication administration. It is a review of pharmacology and the current drug classifications and drug actions related to disease processes as well as lab results. Students will also learn the mathematical skills required to calculate medication doses. The course format will include lectures, discussion of clinical case scenarios, tests and assignments.
There will be an assignment that will be due at the beginning of the first class and a test on day 1 with a comprehensive in class exam on day 2. Students must obtain a passing grade of 80% on all tests to pass this course and to receive the certificate of completion.
