This course is designed to enable nurses to acquire the necessary knowledge to administer medications safely. Students must be a RN or RPN or eligible for nursing registration to take this course.

Program Description:
This course will focus on the practical part of administering medication. Students will have the opportunity to apply the theory and to practice medication administration in a simulated situation. Students will also review the nursing standards of medication administration, legal aspects and safe medication practices. The format of the classes includes lecture, discussion, skills practice and out of class reading assignments. A Drug Calculation test must be successfully completed with a passing grade of at least 80%.
